How We Started
Our Story
VASCCO began in 2004 as Elite Edutainment — a small team with a big belief: that the most powerful learning happens outside the classroom, in the real world, with real stakes. For over 20 years, we have designed field trips, leadership camps, and curated Malaysian expeditions for both local schools and overseas student groups visiting Malaysia. In 2026, we rebranded as VASCCO to reflect our growing commitment to ESG and SDG-aligned sustainability education — bringing a new dimension of real-world environmental and social learning to every programme we deliver.
Started as Elite Edutainment, delivering local school field trips and outdoor programmes across Malaysia.
Expanded to serve schools, kindergartens, NGOs and corporates across Malaysia and the region.
New direction — ESG & SDG sustainability education added to bring real-world environmental learning to every programme.

What VASCCO Stands For

Our name is inspired by Vasco da Gama — the Portuguese explorer whose courage to sail into the unknown opened new worlds. At VASCCO, we carry that same spirit into education: the courage to explore beyond the classroom, to discover Malaysia's living landscapes, cultures and ecosystems, and to do so with deep respect for people and planet. Every programme we design carries this spirit.

A Team That Delivers
Every programme is designed and facilitated by practitioners with real industry experience — not generalists.
The founding force behind VASCCO since 2004. Naia has spent over two decades designing student programme journeys that are purposeful, safe, and genuinely memorable — from local day trips to multi-day educational expeditions across Malaysia and the region.
Anika leads VASCCO's ESG and sustainability programmes, translating complex real-world issues into curriculum-aligned learning experiences. With a background in psychology and operations, she designs programmes where students don't just learn about the future — they practise shaping it.
A youth mentor and technology leader with over 25 years of experience, Nick brings structure, discipline, and deep care for young people to every programme. As Honorary President of the Boys' Brigade Malaysia, his commitment to character education runs through everything he does.
With a background in Applied Science and over a decade in the classroom, Melanie designs outdoor learning programmes that are as rigorous as they are engaging. She brings educator instinct and scientific grounding to every field experience she structures.
A world-renowned marine political geographer, cartographer, and former Merchant Naval Officer, Prof Forbes brings rare authority to VASCCO's ocean and coastal sustainability programmes. His expertise in maritime governance and ocean resource management across Southeast Asia gives students direct access to scholarship that shapes how nations protect their seas.
